A BETA READER DEFINED
A beta reader is a test reader who gives feedback to a writer/author in the point of view of the average reader.
WHAT I TRY TO FOCUS ON WHEN I READ:

Did the story hold my interest from the very beginning?

Could I relate to the main character? Did I feel his/her pain or excitement?

Were the characters believable? Are there any characters you think could be made more interesting or more likable?

Did I get confused with who’s who?
-
Did the setting interest me and were the descriptions vivid and real to me?
-
Was there a point at which I felt the story lagged or I became less than excited about finding out what was going to happen next? Specifically?

Were there any parts that confused, frustrated or annoyed me? Which parts?
-
Is there any discrepancies or inconsistencies in time sequences, places, character details, or other details?

Did the dialogue keep my interest and did it sound natural to me? What parts? Was there too much dialogue? Too little?

Was there too much description or exposition? Not enough?
-
Was there enough conflict, tension, and intrigue?
-
Was the conclusion satisfying? Believable?
-
Did you notice any obvious, repeating grammatical, spelling, punctuation or capitalization errors? Examples?

Does the writing style suits the genre? If not, why not?
-
If there are other specific elements that author/writers would like me to look out for, send it over in a word document along with the manuscript.
TERMS/CONDITION

The beta reading service does NOT include any serious proofreading or editing (I might include some small form of it, but it will not be intentionally done)

I will send over my feedback in whatever form and wherever the author/writer would prefer. And there will be two things that I will be sending over:

A word document containing my feedback on the manuscript in accordance with the questions listed above along with any additional specified elements wanted by the author/writer.

The PDF document of the manuscript with my commentaries and highlighted notes.

Rest assured that ALL manuscript will be kept confidential.

Expect feedback within a minimum time frame of two weeks and a maximum of a month. (Please keep in mind I am a student and have limited time)

Authors/writers can send me their manuscript in batches or in full. It is up to them.

After the author/writer has reviewed the feedback I've sent on their manuscript, it will be appreciated if a short three sentence or more testimonial was made about the service provided.

If a manuscript does NOT meet the requirements I reserve the right to turn it away and will refund the author/writer their money in FULL.
FORMAT ACCEPTED:

As of right now, I prefer PDF format, so that I may be able to highlight and make notes. However, I also accept epub format as well.
PAYMENT METHOD:

I charge $0.40 for every 300 words, so 25,000 words will be $33. Rates will be rounded to the nearest dollar.

Manuscripts that need to be beta read in less than two weeks will be charged with an additional $10.00.

As of right now, payments are only online via Paypal. There will be other options along the way.

30% downpayment is required prior to the beta reading. The 70% will be paid post the beta reading which will be agreed upon.
